HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION
The Partyka Foundation for Giving, Inc. (“PFG”) evolved from the desire of Mark and Deirdre Partyka to assist the Southington, Connecticut community during the holidays by hosting a post-Thanksgiving holiday gathering for their families, friends and other members of the local community to collect new toys to be donated to Southington Community Services for families in need. These very successful holiday gatherings took place for about 10 years before Mark and Dee, along with family members and friends, established the Foundation, with the intent to expand outreach to the bordering towns of Plainville and Cheshire, to increase the scope of the donations made to include the needs of each towns’ adults and to create scholarships to be given to a graduating senior or seniors in each of the communities.
The inaugural PFG holiday event took place on November 26, 2022, and was a huge success, allowing PFG to donate food, gift cards, toys and many personal items requested by the community services of Southington, Plainville and Cheshire to support families in need in each of the communities during the 2022 holidays and into 2023. The Partyka Foundation for Giving will continue to support families in need in the communities of Southington, Plainville and Cheshire.
